Your name on the report

Page one says who ordered the report, on behalf of which party, and when.

A code anyone can check

On our site, a reader can check that their copy is the file we issued, unchanged.

We stand behind the report

Your client accepts our short report-user terms on our page — including “share it only with your own advisers, and never publish it”. You draft nothing. If we get something wrong, your client’s claim against us is capped at the public price of the report (€550 / €950), with the exceptions in the report-user terms. You guarantee nothing in it.

We do not market to your client

We email them once: the link to the report you asked us to send. No sales offers.

Your price

You pay a partner price below our public price, set for your firm and improving as you order more; you see it in your partner account before your first order. You decide what your client pays. No subscription, no minimum.

One more way for clients to find you

We have only just started building our partner catalogue: buyers who check a business with us will be able to find a local broker, lawyer or accountant there. It is not open yet, so we cannot promise enquiries. Your place in it is free, and places are never sold or ranked by payment. We will write to you when it opens.

If you act for the seller

See what the public records say before a buyer does, and give serious buyers a dated report to read for information. We ask the seller to confirm the check once, by email, at the address you give us — it may be their personal one. The email’s subject and text do not mention a sale.

What your client gets

Court cases, enforcement proceedings, insolvency and sanctions, as far as each country makes them public, and the asking price against similar listings, in plain words. With the document check, also the seller’s own documents against the records. Read a sample report

Who is behind it

Provenance Diligence is run by its founder, Grig Kochedykov: more than 25 years in management, and the author of the check itself. Software reads the public records and drafts the report; he reviews every report before it is issued. LinkedIn · About us

How it works

  1. You apply

Your firm, your country, and your firm’s website or official register number. Two minutes, no password yet. Applying is free.

  2. We add your firm

We check your firm, add it to our list of partner firms and open your account — usually within two working days. If your profession has no public register, we ask for your licence or association number.

  3. You order from your account

We confirm each order, usually within a few working hours. The report follows within 24 hours, or 48 with the document check.

Who we accept

Registered business brokers, law firms and accounting practices that work on sales and purchases of small businesses.

Who pays

You order and pay us per report, from your partner account once the order is confirmed. No subscription, no minimum. Your price is set for your firm and shown only in your partner account.

Questions brokers ask

Anything else: founder@provenancediligence.com

What if the report is wrong?

Ordering a check does not make you guarantee it; claims about the report’s content are made against us, within our report-user terms. Your client’s claim is capped at the public price of the report — €550, or €950 with the document check. The cap does not apply to wilful misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, personal-data breaches, or anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

How may I use a report?
  • Send it from your partner account to the client you named on the order. They accept our report-user terms before it opens, and the PDF repeats them on page one.
  • That client may share it with their own advisers.
  • Anyone else — a prospective buyer, for example — gets a link marked “for information only”: they may read it but may not rely on it.
What may I not do with a report?
  • Change it, cut it or put your own brand on it.
  • Publish it, or put it in a listing.
  • Use it for a different deal, or suggest that we recommend the business, the price or your firm.
Can I order a check on a business I am selling?

Yes. The report says you act for the seller. When you order, you give the seller’s email — their personal address is fine. We ask the seller to confirm; the email does not mention a sale. Payment opens only after the seller confirms. If the address is not one the business publishes, the report’s code page says the seller confirmed from an address your firm gave us. Buyers you send the report to get it for information only and are told to order their own check.

How fast, and in which countries?

We confirm an order usually within a few working hours. The report follows within 24 hours on working days, or within 48 hours of receiving the documents for the document check. Any country; the report in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese or Russian.

Everything else — payment, the seller’s personal data, ending the partnership — is in the partner terms.

Before your next client signs, show them what the public records say.

We review every application ourselves, usually within two working days. Applying is free, and you do not have to order anything.
